Owner & Director

Susan is the owner and director of Sunshine Station Early Learning Center and has been managing the facility since August of 2011, as well as being the lead teacher in the toddler room. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Service and Education. Her prior work experience includes 10 years as an Early Childhood Teacher. Susan's goal for Sunshine Station ELC is to provide a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for children to learn and thrive and to continue to grow a quality program located within the city limits.

Infant Room

Ms. Renae is the lead teacher in the infant room and has been working for Sunshine Station since July of 2016. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from the Cheyney University of Pennsylvania in the Spring of 2015. Seeing the growth and "aha" moments children have is what fuels her drive each day. Ms. Renae truly enjoys working with young children and looks forward to the exciting adventures to be had with them.

Toddler Room

Ms. Susan is the lead teacher in the toddler room, as well as the director, since August of 2011. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Service and Education. Her prior teaching experience includes 7 years in the classroom working primarily with toddlers. Ms. Susan has a deep passion for educating and nurturing young children and building strong relationships with their families. Her goal for the toddlers is to develop their social and self-help skills to allow them to be successful later on in their schooling.

Ms. Sharon is the assistant teacher in the toddler room and has been working at the facility since October 2009. She completed the Training for Early Care and Education program in 2009 and is currently pursuing her Associates degree in Early Childhood Development at Delaware Technical College. Previous to her work here, Ms. Sharon has been in the childcare field for 7 years, working with a variety of age groups. Ms.Sharon believes that children learn best through play and the most important role of the educator is to nurture their ability to problem solve. Her main goal in the classroom is to assist the children in developing positive relationships with both their peers and adults. Her philosophy is that these skills together will allow for the greatest success in their futures.

Preschool Room

Ms. Revonda is the lead the preschool room and joined the teaching team in September 2014. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and Early Education from Springfield College in December 2014 and, previous to her work here, has been working as a teacher for 10 years. She hopes to impact the children by helping them strive for independence while becoming Kindergatren ready. Ms. Revonda is very passionate about the field of early education and advocating for the children and families we serve. She firmly believes that we are touching the future when we invest in our children.

Supplemental Staff

Ms. Shaymaa is our substitute teacher and has been working at the facility since July of 2012, when she started as an assistant in the toddler room. After receiving her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education at Delaware Technical College in the fall of 2015, she transferred to the University of Delaware to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in the field and decided to take the position of substitute teacher so she could focus full time on her studies. Ms. Shaymaa believes that all children are special in their own way and by celebrating both their similarities and differences, we can build a classroom community of understanding and tolerance.
